Our History - From 1977 to Today
Audio Video was founded in 1977 by Gene Joyce, who began by selling stereo systems (audio) and televisions (video). From the start, the company was known for its service-oriented approach. Salespeople didn’t just complete transactions, they personally delivered products, set them up in customers’ homes, and provided hands-on instruction. This level of care set Audio Video apart from other stereo stores of the 1970s.
In 1983, Mike Bellott joined the team and helped expand Audio Video into custom installation. Long before these solutions were widely available, the company was designing and installing whole-house music systems and discreet, built-in speakers. For more than three decades, Audio Video has been a leader in home automation, integrating music, lighting, climate control, and more.
This commitment to innovation and service has earned Audio Video numerous honors, including multiple Best of the Brazos and Insite Publishing’s A-List awards. The company is also a trusted partner for local homebuilders and discerning clients across the region.
